Q. Where does CEM find used eyeglasses?
A. We have been blessed with a number of local churches, organizations, and individuals who have helped us collect used eyeglasses; Local Lions Clubs have contributed greatly to our cause; friends and relatives from all across the country have collected glasses at their schools and workplaces and sent these donations to us. If you have a donation of used eyeglasses please feel free to send them to Post Office Box 668, Waynesburg OH, 44688, and we will be honored to use them on our upcoming trip.
Q. Where does CEM go on its mission experiences?
A. Cross Eyed Missions does not have any boundaries for mission experiences. Our board decides where each destination will be. We do use our network of current mission sites and churches to help develop contacts in the needed region.
Q. How many mission trips occur each year with CEM?
A. Currently, CEM has two mission trips per year. Our goal is to expand exponentially with more eye care professionals becoming interested in our organization and leading future trips. As our funding increases our mission experiences will increase every year. The more trips that occur, the more people served.
Q. How is CEM funded?
A. Cross Eyed Missions is a not for profit charity as registered with the IRS (501(c)(3)). Up to this point in time, all of our funding has come from individuals, civic groups, and churches that believe in our cause.
Q. What are the board members and doctors paid for their work?
A. The board members and doctors are strictly volunteer positions. All donated money that CEM collects goes directly to the mission's cause.
Q. How can I help?
A. Our first area of help is for needed prayer. We ask that you think of our mission in your prayers on a regular basis. Secondly, used eyeglasses are always needed. As we grow and take more trips each year, more glasses will be required. Lastly, consider supporting us financially with a one time donation or on a monthly basis. Remember, your donation is tax deductible.
Q. How can I join CEM on a mission trip?
A. We are always looking for Christian eye care professionals that would like to donate their time to help those in need. Other volunteers are needed as well to assist the dispensing process on the mission field. If you are interested in helping on a mission trip, please feel free to contact us via e-mail or phone. |
